Course Overview
The Modeler's Toolkit consists of two parts, General and Advanced (delivered over two non-consecutive days). You can complete each of the parts independently of one another based on your existing knowledge and skills. You may decide to complete the course in its entirety (attend both General and Advanced) to build up your knowledge and skills of the course materials.
Course Objectives
The Modeler's Toolkit - Advanced course will provide a hands-on practical opportunity for participants to present modelling problems to the class for discussion and share more advanced scenarios a modeler may come across. Participants will utilize in-depth modelling and advanced debt modelling techniques to build robust, future-proof, updatable operating models.

- A review of debt structuring, covering term/revolver/shareholder loan/refinancing, covenant calculations and pricing grids.
- How to use Binary/Flag modelling covering timing of debt, capex, acquisition and will use a few functions AND(), OR(), IF() to manage circularity.
- How to determine day-count conventions and what the T in TVM means.
- What is circularity management including multiple circularity switches and methods on locating circularity.
- How to use multiple entity models, covering entities with multiple divisions, different businesses, assumptions and inputs.
- How to use rolling models and visual techniques for rolling models forward.
- Modelling takeaways for future model updates.
